Metal body fittings are a type of conduit fitting, also known as a conduit connector, that is completely made from metal. Both the body portion and the threaded end are made of metal. Metal body fittings are mostly used with metal conduits. There are some installations where a metal body fitting is used with non-metallic conduit. In the case of harsh chemicals, a metal body fitting could be combined with a polyurethane (PU) plastic spiral conduit or in a very high temperature or flame exposed application, the metal body fitting could be used with a calcium silicate soft walled protective conduit. This would be the case near welding robots where splatter is often a problem.

Popular metal conduit fitting material is steel, stainless steel, and nickel-plated brass.
