The Ronk ECONO-PHASE SHIFTER is a low cost, high efficiency power converter for use in applications where a single motor operates with light to medium loading and low initial cost is desired.

The ECONO-PHASE SHIFTER will operate a motor that does not require its full load rating to operate its driven load, as is the case in many home or low volume shop applications. Unlike some competitors' static converters, our medium-duty converters utilize run capacitors to maintain current on all three phases.

Also, the capacitors utilized are based on the actual horsepower rating of the motor, rather than trying to operate a range of horsepower ratings with a fixed amount of capacitance.

That way, motors at the upper range are not short of the capacitance needed to operate in heavier loaded conditions. Because the run capacitors in the ECONO-PHASE SHIFTER are based on the actual horsepower rating of the motor they are to operate, they will generally operate most motors to full load for brief periods, and can operate at 2/3 to 3/4 load on a continuous basis.
The ECONO-PHASE SHIFTER is ideal for drill presses, grinders, mills, saws, and other machine or woodworking equipment. Some door openers, small air compressors, or equipment utilizing low rpm motors may also operate on these converters.
